Lórien?
A: Lórien is one of the Valar, and is one half of the Fëanturi,
the other half being Mandos, his older brother. His real name is
Irmo, and he is master of dreams. His spouse is Estë, the
Gentle, healer of hurts and weariness, and his sister is Nienna,
Lady of Grief and Mourning. He took his name as Lórien from the
gardens in Valinor, where he dwells.
Q: Is Lórien to
do with Lothlórien and elves?
A: No. Lórien was the name of a Vala, after the gardens of
Lórien in the Undying Lands where he lived, earning him that
name. Although the founders of Lothlórien tried to make it as
alike to Lórien as possible, Lothlórien is a forest, and
Lórien is a garden.
